Protestors Express Displeasure over Health Care Bill

Several House Democrats made revisions to their original health care reform bill late into the night on Friday in order to help sway previously undecided voters and to ensure that the originally scheduled vote on the bill would occur, as initially planned, on Saturday. With the House vote on the health care bill expected to occur in just a couple of hours, hundreds of protestors rallied outside of the Capitol to show their displeasure over government-controlled health care.
According to CNN.com, the protest lasted for an hour and a half and the crowd chanted a variety of unified rally cries such as, “Hell, no” and “Kill the bill!”. A handful of Republican lawmakers took notice of the protest and in an attempt to encourage the protestors who were voicing their displeasure over the contents of the Democratic Party’s health care reform bill, they spoke to them to praise their efforts and asked them to spread the word.
Tea Party Patriots organizer Jenny Beth Martin, who was the individual responsible for organizing today’s health care reform protest, shared her opinion about the Democrats’ proposed bill, saying, "It may pass out of the House tonight. We do realize that. But there is the Senate still. And we are going to leave no stone unturned and fight the government taking over our health care."
