White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs spoke Tuesday in regards to conflicting media reports about a potential decision made by Obama in regards to sending more troops to Afghanistan.
"Anybody that tells you that the president has made a decision, or what was the artfully used term last night -- 'tentatively agreed to' -- doesn't have, in all honesty, the slightest idea what they are talking about. The president has yet to make a decision," Gibbs said.
Recent reports have risen over the possibility that Obama has approved sending out 40,000 additional troops to Afghanistan. Unidentified Pentagon sources are suspected of sending out the information.
"I don't know if it's annoying as much as it is generally amusing to watch somebody or some group of people decide they know what only the president knows," Gibbs told reporters aboard Air Force One. "You know, it keeps me busy and it's in some way fun to watch two reports that contradict each other being reported virtually simultaneously."
