Baby Returned to His Parents After Being Auctioned on EBay

CNN is reporting that the baby boy who was put up for auction on the popular eBay Web site back on May 24 has been returned home to his parents. The baby boy had been staying in a facility where his parents had constant contact with him as an ongoing investigation was being conducted.
The original eBay page that advertised the baby was for sale disturbingly read, "Offering my nearly new baby for sale, as it has gotten too loud. It is a male baby, nearly 28 inches long and can be used either in a baby carrier or a stroller."
Deputy chief of youth services in the area that the parents live, Otto Gaschler, provided a statement to the media, explaining how the parents were inexplicably naïve to believe that such an incident would not be taken seriously, regardless of whether or not they claimed it was a joke.
The parents of the baby boy, a 23-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man, have not been publicly identified in order to avoid humiliation and scrutiny.
