Well she resigned from being Governor of Alaska today, so it's too late for her to work from square one. I do agree that her chances of becoming president in the 2012 elections are slim-to-none. But I don't think it is so obvious that she plans on running for president. She could use her political clout to gain attention for a novel or help out another Republican in '12, who could help increase Palin's credibility and help her achieve a post in a less obscure state.

I think the U.S. should abandon international law, and try to pursue what best protects our nation. I do not approve of Leon Panetta terminating the program. He seems more concerned with proving his distance from former President George W. Bush's policies. He should instead of act on what would end, or at least hasten the termination of, the War on Terrorism, which some are already comparing to Vietnam. I believe that at this point in the war unconventional and "illegal" plans should be considered. But, as fatally flawed in Vietnam, the U.S. should not withdraw at the height of progress. We have made gains, despite the sacrifices out troops have made. We cannot stop now, and must go with any means necessary.

It would make for a great movie. Too bad it's not as simple as it may seem.

Well, only about one-third of the trailers are for sale, meaning the rest are inadequate. FEMA probably did not think of giving the trailers away as permanent residencies. The situation of the other two-thirds of families in trailers is more uncertain, since there may only be a few hundred donated trailers for them, meaning the rest will have to fend for themselves.
